Fodor's Expert Review Falcon Hotel
Chapel St., Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, CV37 6HA, England
Editor's Note: This property is currently undergoing renovations.
Licensed as an alehouse since 1640, this black-and-white timber-frame hotel in the center of town has an excellent location as well as a light, airy interior that looks out to a pleasant garden. The heavily beamed rooms in the older part are small and a bit more interesting, but the creaky, uneven antique floors might bother some. There's more space in the ordinary rooms in the modern extension. Downstairs, the Oak Bar and Will's Place Restaurant have been sympathetically upgraded to keep their lovely antique look.
