This luxury guesthouse, sister property to the nearby Arden Hotel, offers a first-class stay, with a help-yourself pantry, books to borrow, afternoon tea, and a daily gin o’clock. Bedrooms are compact but well equipped with proper wardrobes, bedside tables, and robes and slippers. Downstairs is where this hotel comes into its own, though. The lovely lounge feels welcoming and you can help yourself to one of the books or magazines on the shelves or to tea, coffee, or snacks in the dining area. If it’s sunny, you can even dip into the complimentary afternoon tea selection in the garden. Come morning, you are spoiled for choice for breakfast, from omelets to eggs Benedict and fruit salad.
