Fodor's Expert Review Abel Heywood
38 Turner St., Manchester, Manchester, M4 1DZ, England
In a city with so many chain hotels, the arrival of this well-priced boutique hotel and bar in the funky Northern Quarter came as a relief. Named for a local mayor, radical, and publisher, it has cozy rooms in neutral colors, with exposed brickwork and photo murals of the Manchester cityscape. The pub (all leather banquettes, wooden floorboards, and industrial chic lights) serves modern comfort food, from brisket hash to burgers, and craft ales.
