Fodor's Expert Review Brasserie mEating Point
Ignore the silly name and you'll find a restaurant that's a cut above your typical hotel dining experience. Inside the King's Court hotel and looking out on Námĕstí Republiky, mEating Point caters to international tastes. (The menu, which is written in English and Russian, should be a hint.) Terrace seating in mild weather trumps the interiors, where the decor suffers from too much flashiness: purple velvet chairs and a busy patterned carpet feel distracting. Nonetheless, the food hits the right notes, from crisp, tender calamari with a spicy tomato coulis to tuna and salmon tartare appetizers (not as common in Prague as in the States). The pastas here are also excellent, including a fresh tagliatelle with mushrooms and bacon. And if you want to stick to Czech standards, there are some clever spins on these as well, like duck with white cabbage.
