Prague's 6 Best Hotels for Shopping
Shopping in Prague is a delight. There's a great mix of all-bells-and-whistles shopping centers and cute, kooky boutiques. Staying out of the center is also a good option if you are in town for the shopping--you are more likely to find the real McCoy and avoid tourist tat. Here are the hotels you'll want to consider.
Hotel Residence Agnes
Why it made the list
While there are plenty of tourist trap shops in Old Town (see above), there are also lots of tiny, interesting boutiques dotted around, from antique bookshops to cavern-like spots selling unique clothes and sculptures. Hotel Residence Agnes is near some of the best of them.
Hotel 16
Why it made the list
A lovely hotel in the expat-friendly, relaxed district of Vinohrady, staying at Hotel 16 means you can find a more interesting selection of shops close to your hotel than the rows of Prague sweatshirts and Charles Bridge keyrings in parts of Old Town.
Beseda Hotel Prague
Why it made the list
New Town's boutiques and shopping arcades (check out the Lucerna arcade in particular) are dotted all around this property.
andel's by Vienna House Prague
Why it made the list
One of the benefits of staying outside of the traditional Old Town is the chance for a more authentic shopping experience. At andel's you have Smíchov, something of a modern shopping mecca, on your doorstep. And there's a pleasant local farmers' market on a Friday too.
Hotel King's Court
Why it made the list
The stately old King's Court hotel is basically opposite one of Prague's biggest shopping malls, Palladium.
BoHo Hotel Prague
Why it made the list
This scene-y hotel may not be on the most exciting street in Prague, but it is steps away from some exciting shopping: Prague's main shopping street, Na Příkopě, some big malls, and the boutiques of Old Town.
