Fodor's Expert Review Konoba Varoš
The dining-room walls are hung with seascapes and fishing nets, and the waiters wear traditional Dalmatian waistcoats. The place can seem a little dour at lunchtime, but mellows when the candles are lighted during the evening. The fresh fish and pržene lignje (fried squid) are excellent, and there's also a reasonable choice of Croatian meat dishes. It's a five-minute walk west of the center, at the bottom of Varoš, and has a couple of tables outside by the entrance.
