Fodor's Expert Review RAS

$$$ Oude Stad Belgian

Having reopened in 2017 with a new name (formerly Zuidterras), a fresh menu, and a slightly cozier interior, the one thing that thankfully hasn't changed at the riverside café and restaurant is the view. Perched atop a huge glass-and-black-metal construction designed by avant-garde architect bOb (his spelling) Van Reeth, it resembles a docked cruise ship. You're virtually assured a good view, since large windows stretch around the building. Boat traffic bustles on the Schedlt River to one side and, on the other, there's a fine view of the cathedral and the Oude Stad. The bistro-style food is as modern as the surroundings
