Why We Like It

In the third district, the hotel is at once central to everything, yet not in the midst of everything. The staff go out of their way to ensure you have all you need and the convenience from the airport is hard to beat.

Fodor's Expert Review

Located on a quiet side street in a largely residential area, this is a family-run B&B with top-rate service. The location is ideal for those who want to be close, but not too close. It is a 10-minute walk from the Ringstrasse, and nearly as close to the Donau (Danube) Canal. The comfortable, well-designed rooms are a draw for visitors from all over the Continent.

Room

The rooms are spacious, with large windows that bring in a lot of sunlight. The decor is modern browns and creams and reds and comes with a working fireplace. Many of the rooms have balconies.

Tip Staff offers firewood upon request

Bathroom

Remarkably spacious, the shower/tub combos are also quite large. Heated floors are a nice touch in winter.

Lobby

A relatively small but welcoming space, dominated by domed archways characteristic of the buildings of this era.

Dining

Breakfast is the main attraction, as this is, after all a B&B. Enjoy the fresh-squeezed juices and organic breads and jams.

Drinking

There is a small sunlit lounge on site a great place to sip an afternoon wine.

What's Nearby

Getting Around

A U-bahn station is located directly outside the hotel and will get you everywhere you need to go quickly and efficiently. The city's main rail station is located around the corner, with a direct line (CAT) to the Vienna airport.

Restaurants

Elvira's, serving truly authentic Ukrainian food, is a top choice for lunch or a cozy dinner. If you're hungering for fresh fish, step in at Lubin's, a Croatian eatery (that also has great outdoor seating for the warm months). Lingenhel Käserei is the picture of comfortable elegance. German speakers will note "cheese" in the name, and the owner takes his cheese seriously. The selection is exquisite, and Lindenhel's shop on site is a good place to buy some to take with you after your meal.

Bars

Stop in at Vinothek Weinhochvier after dinner for a glass of wine. Upscale and elegant, it also serves cognac and liquer. Vinothek Rochus is a small wine bar with a big selection. Sit and have a drink (and enjoy the free dishes of food), and buy a bottle or two of great Austrian wine to take back with you. Ausklang offers a relaxed atmosphere in the evening to enjoy a nice cocktail and live music.
