At the end of the lake and on its own beach, this gorgeous pale-yellow mansion with soaring red mansard roof, flower-bedecked balconies, storybook woodwork, and Rapunzel towers immediately conjures up "holiday." Despite an exterior redolent of the era of grand hotels, the guest rooms are plainly furnished in traditional style, but you can't really expect more at these extremely reasonable room rates; preferred rooms overlook the lake. The hotel is open year-round and offers a dazzling parade of sports facilities, both summer and winter.
