Bugaloo's beach shack started the conch craze. The man behind the name started out in a wee little beach shack down in Wheeland many moons ago, moved to Freeport, came back, and has since opened up his newest location on the beach in Five Cays. Island attitude, with sayings such as "Ain't saying it had to been" and R-rated (or maybe X-rated) music abound. Of course, there’s conch prepared many different ways, as fritters, cracked, salad, and so on. There's also fresh fish and fried chicken. On Sunday afternoon there's a "conch crawl" with live music, when rum punch flows a little more freely than normal and things can get quite lively. Located right next to the fisheries, this is even a little more local than Da Conch Shack, but keeping up the standards and service that visitors are looking for. This one is a must-do.
