Fodor's Expert Review The Shore Club Turks & Caicos
Shore Club Beach, Long Bay, Turtle Cove, Providenciales TKCA 1ZZ, Turks and Caicos Islands See on Map
Set along Providenciale's southern shoreline, The Shore Club is the only resort amidst numerous luxury villas. This five-star luxury property offers an element of privacy that those along Grace Bay simply cannot. Designed and built by the Hartling Group, management describes it as the "Texan" version of their properties along the world famous north shore - taller ceilings, bigger rooms, grander entrances. With a full service spa, four pools, three restaurants, three bars, and a variety of accommodation to choose from, there is no need to venture further.
YOU SHOULD KNOW Providenciales is a small island. If guests wish to enjoy alternate dining options, a day of browsing shops or participating in an off-site excursion, this Long Bay address is really only minutes away from the heart of Grace Bay.
room
Guests may choose from a complement of rooms, suites, or one of three resort villas, all inspired by the island environment that surrounds them. Their decor embraces soft blues and tropical greens - the natural hues of sand and sea - to create that perfect balance of luxury and ease.
bathroom
Large and luxurious, no matter the level of accommodation. Large soaker tubs with separate showers grace each, complimented with high end products, accessories, and luxurious towels. Stupendous views can be enjoyed while you pamper yourself or get ready for an evening out.
lobby
An open-air grand lobby welcomes those that choose The Shore Club. Friendly staff greet you upon your arrival, assist you with your check-in, and then help you to settle in to your accommodations, highlighting the resort features and amenities along the way.
pool
There are four pools to choose from on property; private villas also have their own private pools as an added indulgence. Guests may choose from an adults only pool, the family-friendly Sea Grapes pool, their elegant Colannade Pool, as well as the lap pool within their fitness area of the resort.
YOU SHOULD KNOW Poolside environments range from casual and comfortable to the more elegant with a "see and be seen" terrace and seating.
spa
The Dune Spa consists of three wellness cottages, all with sea views. The services offered are centred around the natural environment of the islands: the sand, the sea, the breeze, and the sun. Those wishing to indulge in a treatment, choose between three "journeys". Whether you decide upon the Long Bay Spa Ritual, Sea Salt Caramel Body Glow, or the Twilight Ceremony, you will come away feeling completely rejuvenated. Each experience is unique, combining body polishes, salt scrubs, exfoliations and massage, as well as an energy renewal through sage smoke and chajman prayers.
gym
The Wellness Centre offers a full gym, lap pool, yoga, and pilates classes, all nestled in a private garden at the front of the property. Guests may indulge in sun salutations on the beach or a more challenging vinyasa in air-conditioned comfort. Classes range from beginner to advanced and are offered daily.
dining
There are three dining options at The Shore Club. Complimentary breakfast and afternoon tea may be enjoyed in The Garden for those staying at the Resort. On the oceanfront, yet poolside, is Sea Grapes, the family-friendly option for simple, casual dining, offering Caribbean-inspired cuisine. A more elegant daytime option is the Colonnade Restaurant situated alongside the Colonnade Pool. Dining may be enjoyed poolside, within the more elegant al fresco dining area, or in one of the private dining cabanas. SUI-REN offers fine dining in an elegant yet comfortable setting. Here, diners may experience the melding of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine with a slight twist of island flare.
Outside diners should be sure to make a reservation well in advance.
drinking
There are three bars on site: The Rope Bar alongside the Colonnade Pool, drinks with nibbles at Sea Grapes, or for a more elegant evening, try the Courtyard Bar next to SUI-REN.
In addition, all rooms have stocked mini-bars.
LOCATION
Getting Around
Guests arrive through private Shore Club transfers to and from the airport, or through organized cab service. Guests may also choose a car hire, so that they may explore the island at leisure.
Restaurants
Other than the three restaurants on site, in addition to garden dining, guests of The Shore Club are only a 15-minute drive from the famous Grace Bay area, which offers a myriad of world-class and casual dining options.
WHY WE LIKE IT
The Shore Club offers all that the luxury resorts of Grace Bay offer - and more. Here, there is that element of privacy, of seclusion. One may wander out onto the wilder side of Providenciales, to enjoy miles of pristine beach without the numbers with which to share it. The unique location offers a somewhat protected bay, with shallower waters to enjoy. this particular little corner of the island also offers the perfect combination of wind and water to make it a kite-boarder's paradise.
