Fodor's Expert Review Royal West Indies Resort
Bonaventure Crescent off Governor's Rd., Grace Bay, Providenciales, TKCA 1ZZ, Turks and Caicos Islands
With a contemporary take on colonial architecture and the outdoor feel of a botanical garden, this unpretentious resort on Grace Bay Beach has plenty of garden-view and beachfront studios and suites for moderate self-catering budgets. A full range of studio through two-bedroom suites make up this 115-suite condo resort, tucked onto a long, narrow property with lovely beachfront within Grace Bay. Interiors have a cool, tropical feel, mixing woods with florals and bright splashes of Caribbean colors. Mid-resort, the Pelican Bay Restaurant and Bar is open three meals a day for the convenience of hotel guests, set poolside with a more casual vibe. The resort also offers the use of bicycles for island exploration, as well as Hobie Cats, kayaks, paddle-boards, and snorkeling equipment beachside. Ask at the reception desk for help and advice on where to go to explore. Special packages and free-night offers are available during low season.
- great bang for your buck
- on one of the widest stretches of Grace Bay Beach
- Club Med next door can be noisy
- staying in a unit at the back of the resort is no different from staying at some of the off-the-beach properties because of the resort configuration
