Air Travel

Many travelers connect in Antigua, San Juan, St. Maarten, or St. Thomas. To Nevis, it's almost always cheaper to fly into St. Kitts and then take a regularly scheduled ferry, but check the schedules or book a transfer from your resort (if available) in advance. St. Kitts unveiled the YU Lounge, available not just to private jet passengers but any commercial travelers willing to pay for a restful, hassle-free executive retreat that eliminates the need to go through Customs and Immigration (and offering its own approved security screening).

There are nonstop flights to St. Kitts from Atlanta (Delta), as well as Charlotte, Miami, and New York–JFK (American). There are no nonstops from the United States to Nevis.

LIAT. Several major domestic airlines (including Delta once-weekly from Atlanta) fly from their eastern hubs either into Antigua, St. Maarten, San Juan, or St. Thomas, where connections to St. Kitts (and, less frequently, to Nevis) can be made on LIAT. 869/465–1330; 869/469–5238; www.liatairline.com.

Seaborne. Seaborne introduced service from San Juan to both St. Kitts and Nevis in late 2015. Passengers can take advantage of their code share agreement with JetBlue. 866/359--8784; www.seaborneairlines.com.

United. In late 2015, United introduced weekly nonstop flights from Newark Liberty International (EWR) to St. Kitts during peak season. 800/864--8331; www.united.com.
