Fodor's Expert Review Cheval Blanc St-Barth Isle de France

Baie des Flamands, 97098, St. Barthélemy Fodor's Choice

Nestled along a pristine white-sand beach, in tropical gardens, or on a hillside, the spacious suites and villas of this intimate, casual resort are private and luxurious. Vintage French decor with touches of the signature Cheval Blanc rose and taupe, marble baths (some with freestanding tubs), and an understated glamour are in tune with the gorgeous surroundings. Service is attentive and detail-oriented; there is even a custom Guerlain fragrance that wafts through the resort. Options range from large single rooms and beyond-fabulous beachfront suites to bungalows that can accommodate six. Four new one-bedroom suites are now part of the mix. The beachside La Case de l'Isle restaurant serves fine nouvelle cuisine on a pretty verandah. A stunning and serene spa features treatments and products by Guerlain, the state-of-the-art Technogym has gorgeous sea views and personal trainers, and there's a little boutique that carries great beachwear. The resort is now owned by LVMH, the massive luxury goods holding company.
