Fodor's Expert Review Yerba Buena Restaurant
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
Tables on the terrace are hard to come by at this Cuban restaurant, one of the busier spots in Condado. Cuban classics such as ropa vieja (literally, "old clothes"—meat cooked so slowly that it becomes tender shreds) seamlessly complement local dishes served with imaginative presentation. The shrimp has a coconut-and-ginger sauce; the halibut fillet, one of mango and orange liqueur. The restaurant claims to use the original recipe for its mojito, with yerba buena (spearmint). Live Latin music is played on Monday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Don't miss the big band on Monday night; get there early to grab a seat.
