Fodor's Expert Review Nonna
Great restaurants have recently been popping up in Ocean Park, on or near Calle Loíza. This new gastronomic hub is home to Nonna, a cozy Italian restaurant that wonderfully executes traditional Italian dishes, paying tribute to the Italian nonna (grandmother). The pasta is made from scratch, as is the mozzarella di bufala. Start with the homemade mozzarella topped with candied tomatoes and hazelnuts, a creative and excellent take on a caprese salad. For pastas, our choice is the ravioli di anatra, filled with braised duck and pear in a Port wine reduction, topped with truffle butter. There is a nice selection of specialty pizzas made with Caputo flour from Naples. There are so many tempting choices on the menu that it might be hard to make a decision, but don't overlook the main dishes, especially delicious is the pork belly, as well as the creative cocktails. Bellini Brunch is served on weekends.
