Fodor's Expert Review Village de Menard
Section Vieux Fort, St-Louis, Marie-Galante, 97134, Guadeloupe
Village de Menard consists of 15 crisp and colorful—though not very stylish—bungalows surrounding a pool in a pastoral setting. The spacious bungalows range from a studio on up to one that sleeps seven people, all with kitchenettes. The ruins of an ancient sugar mill are at the entrance. The location's remote, but it is close to two great Caribbean beaches. There's also a poolside restaurant that serves Continental breakfast (not included in rates) and tropical libations to accompany creole dinners. If traveling with young children, this could be a good, inexpensive, island base.
PROS
- family-friendly lodging
- good weekly rates

CONS
