Fodor's Expert Review Spice Basket
Half of the small but fascinating museum at this cultural center and performance venue covers Grenada's heritage—its Amerindian beginnings, its geology (including samples of sand from all the different hues represented on local beaches), local birds and animals, early tools and implements, sugar and slavery, and the 1979–1983 Grenada Revolution. The other half of the museum is dedicated to cricket, making it "the world's first and only display offering an insight into Caribbean social history through cricket." The memorabilia, some dating to the 1800s, includes uniforms, bats, equipment, and more. It's all very fascinating and definitely worth a visit. A gift shop features locally made items. Spice Basket is in the countryside, not far from Annandale Falls.
