Fodor's Expert Review Beau Rive
Between Castle Bruce and Sineku, Dominical, Puntarenas, Costa Rica
Owner Mark Steele puts Zen-like elegance and creative soul into every detail of this secluded boutique hotel. Touches include natural soaps in the bath, the tinkling of the grand piano in the bar, and delicious, freshly prepared food. Homemade marmalade, bread and yogurt plus a nightly dinner ($38, which includes taxes and must be reserved in advance) are served on a lovely terrace. All rooms are extra spacious and have verandas with ocean views. The separate cottage rooms—same size and design as all other accommodations—offer a greater sense of seclusion. Beau Rive is a place for quiet walks in tropical gardens or hikes along the Richmond River.
