Fodor's Expert Review Lions Dive & Beach Resort

Divers are lured by the first-rate program here, but this low-key resort has a lot to offer nondivers as well. The location is great, right on the hip Seaquarium Beach right beside Mambo Beach Boulevard that bustles with activity day and night. The open-air beach bar is a popular hangout. There's plenty to do nearby, so you don't have to rent a car or take a taxi—dozens of eateries, bars, and shops are within walking distance and admission to the neighboring Sea Aquarium is complimentary for hotel guests. All rooms have French doors opening onto a balcony or porch. Rooms with an ocean view—or better yet, the newest rooms right on the beach—are worth the extra cost.
