Though this très charmant bistro serves up Gallic flair and fare, the menu actually globetrots as much as a Big Apple Greek diner (the space even resembles a greasy spoon gone upmarket, with industrial black piping and a menu devoted to kids' drawings), and quite successfully at that. The owner humbly dubs his fare French comfort food, and it sticks to the ribs while tickling the taste buds. Witness the seafood vol au vent, the truffle-and-Parmesan fries, and divine desserts such as crepes suzettes and banana-apple beignets. Or ride his culinary jet stream around the world for such popular standbys as pasticcio and Malaysian curry chicken.
