Fodor's Expert Review The Baths Beach

Caribbean Beach Fodor's Choice

The most popular tourist destination in the BVI, this stunning maze of huge granite boulders extending into the sea is usually crowded midday with day-trippers, especially when cruise ships are in port (come early in the morning or toward evening for more solitude). The snorkeling is good, and you're likely to see a wide variety of fish. Public bathrooms and a handful of bars and shops are close to the water and at the start of the path that leads to the beach. Visitors also come to The Baths from charter boats moored just offshore; use the swim line to get to shore, since boats no longer launch dinghies to transport guests back and forth. Lockers are available to keep belongings safe. Amenities: food and drink; parking; toilets. Best for: snorkeling; swimming.
