Fodor's Review

Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.

The charm of this tiny restaurant is its location beside the water, just a few hundred yards from Hamilton. A brick stairway through fern-covered walls takes you to a harborside garden planted with herbs and flowers. The open kitchen—where cooking classes are taught at night—is on the harbor level of an old Bermuda home. The seating is mostly in the garden, with former church pews and umbrellas over the tables. The house and garden are quite an escape from the surrounding office blocks, and businesspeople often come here for lunch. Some patrons even moor their boats along the dock and skip the stairs altogether. The creative, seasonal menu lists soups, sandwiches, and salads made with locally grown produce, as well as grilled local fish, free-range chicken, and homemade pizza with organic toppings. Daily sweets, such as ginger or oatmeal-nut cookies, and fresh-fruit tarts are perfect with a cup of fair-trade tea or coffee.
