Fodor's Expert Review Taino Beach
Taino Beach is just far enough removed from Port Lucaya to thin the crowds some, although cruise-ship passengers often make their way here on group excursions. Junkanoo Beach Club has a small food menu (compared to its long menu of 34 drinks) and water-sports operators are on hand. With lapping water that puts gemstones to shame, this fluffy-sand beach begs for exploration. A short walk down the long, gently coved beach takes you to Tony Macaroni's Conch Experience where music plays and an all-welcome volleyball game is usually in session. A few steps farther and you arrive at Outriggers Beach Club, home to the always-popular fish fry held every Wednesday night. Plenty of green space edges the beach and there's a playground for families. Amenities: food and drink; parking (no fee); water sports. Best for: partiers; sunset; swimming; walking.
