Fodor's Expert Review Ol' Freetown Farm

Greater Grand Bahama Zoo/Aquarium
This family-owned-and-operated farm offers farm tours to meet, greet, feed, and pet the resident animals, including horses, ponies, Abaco wild hogs, peacocks, turkeys, goats, sheep, rabbits, guinea pigs, and the biggest personality of them all, Patches the potbelly pig, among others. The farm also grows its own fruit and vegetables, available for purchase at their farm stand along with fresh-pressed sugarcane juice and eggs straight from the chicken coop. A weekend BBQ is available on Saturdays where visitors gather around picnic benches to listen to the parrots squawk and watch the various horse and cart rides for guests of all ages, including horseback lessons. Opening hours change with the seasons and daily weather, so call ahead before you visit.
