Fodor's Expert Review Sunset Point House Boat

Fresh Creek, Andros Island, Bahamas

A mile and a quarter west of the bridge on Fresh Creek is the unique Sunset Point House Boat, built on the water with the majestic creek flowing around it. This comfortable three- bed, three- bath, two-story house sleeps from two to six and has a large social area, full kitchen, dining room, lounge, and bar. Sunset is mostly self-catered although a cook can be arranged. Surrounding decks lead to a wider sundeck with a picnic table and chaise lounges for sunning. The scenery is wonderful and your cares seemingly flow away with the tide as you see birds, fish, rays, and maybe even dolphins pass mere feet away. The studio has a screened-in room and Adirondack chairs to relax in amid the watery views. Bikes are available and kayaking from your doorstep is a treat. U.K.-born manager/owner Gabrielle arranges many excursions. Sunset Point House Boat is idyllic for fishing fans, families, and friends—anyone needing to get unplugged and reconnected to nature.
