Fodor's Expert Review Conch Sound Resort Inn
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
This secluded, ground-level inn several miles northeast of Nicholl's Town on the road to Conch Sound has six simple but clean and spacious motel-style rooms with carpeting, mahogany furniture, handmade quilts, soft-cushioned chairs, and cable TV. There are also four two-bedroom suites with modern furnishings, kitchens, and an overindulgence of pink. If you'd prefer not to cook, go to the restaurant for basic Bahamian fare. The beach is a two-minute walk away, but the hotel will provide transportation when it can. The staff is extremely welcoming and friendly, and will make you feel like family. Bonefishing, diving, deep-sea fishing, and even wild-boar hunting can be arranged.
PROS
- excellent location for anglers to fish the north end of the island
- restaurant and bar on-site
- friendly people
CONS
- you need to rent a car or use expensive taxis to stay here
- rooms are small
