Fodor's Expert Review Gasparito Restaurant & Art Gallery
This enchanting hideaway can be found in a beautifully restored 200-year-old cunucu (country) house, where you can dine indoors or out. Aruban specialties including keshi yena and Gasparito chicken (with brandy, white wine, pineapple, and four secret ingredients) are on the menu, the latter with a sauce passed down through the owner's family. Vegetarian entrées, American-style ribs, and plenty of fresh fish and other seafood round out the menu. Local artists are showcased on the dining room walls, making this as much art gallery as restaurant. An early bird menu starts at 5:30, but the taxi special—guests who order a regular three-course meal—get $15 off their return cab fare.
