Fodor's Expert Review Jester House Cafe
This funky place is as much fun as the name suggests, and is a great spot to bring the kids. The café is built in an eco-friendly style, echoing the owners' feelings about a sustainable environment. The food is all made on the premises and includes a raft of muffins, cakes, and biscuits to more hearty country fare like chowders, focaccia open sandwiches, and their famous twice-baked three-cheese soufflé. There's either cozy indoor seating or tables dotted through the garden and on a sunny veranda. For the kids there's a small playground, an enchanted forest, an outdoor chess set, and some extremely tame eels that can be hand-fed (September–May). Down in the back garden, the Boot B&B has comfy accommodations for couples.
