Fodor's Expert Review Bay of Many Coves
Bay of Many Coves, Queen Charlotte Sound, Picton, Marlborough, 7282, New Zealand Fodor's Choice
Designed by the architect of the national museum Te Papa in Wellington, this contemporary waterfront lodge complements the surrounding native bush and seascape and offers wonderfully furnished units with private verandas. The Foredeck Restaurant specializes in local foods and goodies baked on-site, and there's also the more casual Bight cafe at the jetty. A day spa and resident therapist offer a range of treatments. The easiest way in is by water taxi from Picton, or you can helicopter or floatplane in—or you could walk in on the Queen Charlotte Track (the Lodge is a two-hour detour from the track). Cruising, dolphin, and bird-watching tours, bushwalks, kayaking, and fishing charters are all at your door. Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.
