Fodor's Expert Review Kings Arms Tavern

One of Auckland's longest-running music institutions, this is often a launch pad for bands that cross the indie and rock boundary. Very good local and established bands also play here, as do small international acts before they hit the big time. Gigs sell out fast at the small venue. This place may not be everyone's cup of tea, especially for those after a sophisticated nightclub atmosphere. If it all gets a bit too much or too noisy, head to the outdoor beer garden. It's in an out-of-the-way area so best to take a taxi.
