Whether you have a light lunch, an á la carte meal, or just visit for one of the Wednesday or Saturday evening shows, make sure you dine on the terrace of this lovely resort. The iconic hotel has plenty of South Seas atmosphere and the bartender, Heiarii, was recently voted the best barman in French Polynesia. Lagoon fish (catch of the day including parrotfish or bonito) served on a taro pancake, with tomato chutney, coriander, and coconut milk is a popular choice. A Mediterranean menu is offered on Friday night with dishes including beef carpaccio with lime, virgin olive oil, and parmesan flakes and mezza plate of Middle Eastern dips such as humus, baba ghanoush, and tsatsiki (yogurt based sauce).
