Indigo Pearl

Nai Yang Beach and National Park, Phuket, Phuket, Thailand

Fodor’s Expert Review

Phuket's tin-mining history is the inspiration for the Indigo Pearl, and the resort features interesting collectibles from the Na-Rarong family mines, with a design-conscious decor that blends funky postindustrial (concrete features strongly) with a hint of Thai rustic luxury. The rooms and suites spacious and each one has a different theme, while the villas have private pools. The hotel has three pools and several bars and restaurants—try dinner with your feet in the sand at Cotemer, where you can enjoy BBQ fish and seafood, and where there are fun child-size tables and seats that look like white space-age cubes. Alternatively be taken by boat to Black Ginger for a gourmet Thai dinner by a chef who has cooked for Thai royalty.
