Fodor's Expert Review The Slate
116 Moo 1, Phuket, Phuket, Thailand Fodor's Choice
Phuket's tin-mining history is the inspiration at The Slate, and the resort features interesting collectibles from the Na-Rarong family mines, with a decor that blends funky postindustrial concrete with a hint of Thai rustic luxury. Each of the spacious rooms and suites has a different theme, and the villas have private pools. There are three larger pools, as well, and several bars and restaurants—try the famous brunch at Rivet, and follow it with a drink upstairs at Rebar. Alternatively be taken by boat to Black Ginger for a gourmet Thai dinner by a chef who has cooked for Thai royalty.
