Tamarind Village

50/1 Ratchadamnoen Rd., Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai, 50200, Thailand

Fodor’s Expert Review

A canopy of towering, interlaced bamboo leads to the main entrance of this stylish village-style hotel in the center of the Old City. A 2015 renovation freshened the look of the pristine rooms and a few suites, which surround a garden shaded by a 200-year-old tamarind tree. The Tamarind is the type of place whose serenity and amenities tempt guests to stay put. There's the pool, of course, tiled a rich blue and flanked by whitewashed exterior corridors. Also on-site are a full-service spa, a respected restaurant, and a boutique selling jewelry, clothing, and other items made regionally and locally. Guests can also take part in cultural activities such as flower making and umbrella painting, arranged by the hotel.
