Airline crews rolling their bags through the lobby are a common sight at the Excel, a hotel with reasonable prices and friendly service. The rooms in the Main Building start off tiny (about 170 square feet) and reach double that for the deluxe twin in the South Building. In-room amenities include the basics: slippers, a robe, and a coffee/tea maker. The gym is adequate but for those wanting to hit the links, club rental for the nearby course is available. The Japanese garden and nearby Shinsho-ji temple are pleasant for walks.
