Fodor's Expert Review Momo Plaza
Momos, dumplings with chicken or meat filling that are served with a spicy red chutney and a thin soup, were introduced to the city by the large Tibetan community that settled here. Thanks partly to the low prices, the no-frills eateries and street stalls that serve the dish are popular with students and young officegoers. While legendary eateries such as Momo Plaza and Humro Momo (Sambhunath Pandit Street), continue to do brisk business, The Blue Poppy (4/1, Middleton St., Elgin) and Ecstasea (Lake Road) have acquired loyal followings as well. Wow!Momo, with 25 outlets across the city, serve innovative momos, including some with chocolate or seafood fillings. The latter also serves a momo burger if you are adventurous enough to try it.
