Fodor's Expert Review Teapot Café
This quirky two-story café, off Princess Street and near the harbor, has teapots and kettles decorating every available space, including some dangling from the ceiling; some tables are made from wooden tea chests. It's almost like being in a tea museum. There's a fair selection of both Indian and Continental food—roast chicken and potatoes, prawn moilee (in a coconut curry), vegetable stew—but the café is best known for its sandwiches (do try their Indie rarebit) and freshly baked cakes—in particular the Death by Chocolate. The relaxed atmosphere and extensive range of teas makes this place popular with tourists and locals alike; it's wonderful to laze away an hour or so here. In season it stays open till 10 pm or so.
