233/A Palolem Beach, behind Old Syndicate bank, Palolem Beach, Goa, 403702, India
Over the years Ciaran’s has evolved from beachfront huts into proper cottages, all set around a small garden and with their own veranda. The coco palm-thatched huts are basic, but suited to Palolem's long-term backpackers. Don't expect luxurious amenities, but rooms are clean and well-maintained, and visitors tend to spend most of their time on the beach, just outside their doors, anyway. It is also probably the most popular of the local bunch, so make sure to book well in advance. There is free Wi-Fi, a restaurant with fresh, barbecued seafood, affordable massages on request, and nothing else to come between you and the sound of the sea.
- good, hearty breakfasts, right on the seafront
- can be noisy in season
- service slightly slow
- rooms slightly gloomy in the daylight
