Low-hanging lamps and delicate latticed screens set the refined mood at this upscale Indian restaurant where the extensive menu, with an "India through the ages" theme, covers the whole country. The lal maas, lamb cubes slow-cooked with the fiery Rajasthani chili, is as exciting as it looks; the yam and zucchini kebabs stand out among the vegetarian appetizers. Their version of create-your-own thali (many dishes on one plate) is several steps above the usual: all the lamb options are excellent, as are the prawns, the okra, and anything with lentils. This is Indian food like you've never seen or tasted before.
