Fodor's Expert Review Coast Cafe
One of the few places in Delhi where you could sample the cuisine of India’s west coast, famous for its lush and bold flavors. Their celebrated items include the prawn moily, sweet and spicy and rich with coconut milk, and lamb with garam masala, a heady blend of ground spices. Vegetarians might want to try the home-style eggplant curry flavored with kokum, a sour fruit native to the west coast, or the safer but equally delicious vegetable stew. The mains are served with appams (rice pancakes) or parottas (layered flat breads). The place is well-lit and spacious, and designed for a laid-back evening, with wicker chairs, winding staircase, arches, balconies, and terrace windows.
