Fodor's Expert Review Bengali Sweet House

$ Central Delhi Indian

This is a classic spot for evening golgappa outings. Also on offer are other Delhi snack staples: chhole bhature (also known as chana bhatura—spicy chickpeas with fried, airy puri bread), stuffed parathas, paneer fritters, raj kachori (spicy chaat bowl with assorted fillings). A snack is supposed to be finished with sweets: gulab jamun (milk-and-dough dumpling soaked with sugar syrup), gajar ka halwa (a fudge-like, carrot-based dessert), and rasmalai, made of cottage cheese and cream.
