4 Best Shopping in Macau, China

Quarter Square

Taipa Fodor's choice
A blend of a gallery, showroom, and coffee bar, Quarter Square sits in a charming pedestrian square in the heart of Old Taipa Village. The boutique curates a design-savvy selection—much of which is Scandinavian or European—that includes eco-friendly steel straws, contemporary wine decanters, coffee accessories, bags, blankets, and more. Grab a coffee or mocha, made with locally roasted beans, to sip while you shop.

New Yaohan

Downtown

Originally a Japanese-owned department store, this failing facility was taken over by Macau entrepreneur Dr. Stanley Ho 20 years ago and transformed into a popular shopping destination for locals. "Macau's only department store" offers a good mix of shops selling household goods, clothing, jewelry, sports equipment, gadgets, and beauty products. It also has an extensive food court, a well-stocked supermarket, and a large bakery.

Shoppes at Cotai Central

Cotai

Decked out in faux jungle foliage and cascading waterfalls, Shoppes at Cotai Central is wedged between the Conrad and Sheraton hotels. The hub of international designers and lifestyle brands covers 620,000 square feet and 200 shops, including the largest duty-free shopping area in Macau. Around the mall, look for flashy names like Gucci, Prada, Zegna, Tom Ford, Ferragamo, Bvlgari, Dior, and Burberry, plus some more affordable spots like Zara.

Traveling with little ones? Take them to the live-action role play Planet J attraction or Qube 2 Kid's Play Zone for an action-packed afternoon.

Shoppes at Venetian

Cotai

The Venetian Macao's vision of a gentrified megamall comes complete with cobblestone walkways, arched bridges, and working canals manned by singing gondoliers (rides are MOP$128). Its 350-plus retailers include all the big-name brands and luxury labels in fashion, accessories, gifts, services, and sporting goods. You’ll also find more than 30 restaurants and an international food court. Don't be surprised to see wandering stilt walkers, violinists, and juggling jesters, especially around St. Mark's Square, which hosts two to three daily live performances. The mall connects with the Shoppes at Four Seasons, Shoppes at Parisian, and Shoppes at Cotai Central, further adding to the number of upscale retail options.
