Considering Novotel Citygate Hong Kong is an airport hotel in all but name, its resort-like qualities make it a property worth considering whether you’re in town for business or keen to stay close to Disneyland. It also comes with the bonus of having the Citygate Outlets on the doorstep and the Lantau Big Buddha a short journey away.

Novotel Hong Kong Citygate is an airport hotel so the biggest compliment you can give is that the airport is just a short shuttle away. Reaching Hong Kong Island is simple but the 40-minute journey time is super slow by Hong Kong standards. The Citygate Outlets is the place for discount shopping and Disneyland is a short train ride away. Keen hikers can make the most of Lantau’s trails.
The airport has a reasonable range of options in addition to the usual fast food brands. In the immediate vicinity there’s Pizza Express (2-minute walk) and Federal Palace (4-minute walk), both located in Citygate Outlets.
The airport is home to a range of basic drinking options should you need refreshment pre-flight.
WHY WE LIKE IT
Convenience is the key at Novotel Citygate Hong Kong. The airport is extremely close but the hotel is just far enough removed to offer something a little more personal than the standard transit hotel. A solid choice for business travellers and leisure visitors who want a convenient remove from the city proper.
