Fodor's Expert Review Phnom Chhnork Caves

Kampot Religious Building/Site/Shrine

The limestone caves shelter a pre-Angkorian ruin, over which the stalagmites and stalactites are gradually growing. The less appealing cave of Phnom Sia (flashlight required) is more for the fun of exploring in the depths of a cave. The white elephant cave, or Cave of Sasear, has a shrine where worshippers pray to an elephant-shape limestone formation. Tuk-tuks from town cost $10 for the round-trip.
