Fodor's Review

Who needs French Champagne when you have top-class South African MCC at very affordable prices? The Robertson cellar of Graham Beck Wines, on the road between Worcester and Robertson, produces some very sophisticated wines, and winemaker Pieter Ferreira is known as Mr. Bubbles for his wonderful sparkling wines. The iconic Cap Classique flagship, Cuvée Clive, is produced with Chardonnay grapes from the Robertson estate and with Pinot Noir fruit from the Graham Beck Stellenbosch estate. It is the undisputed favorite in the Cap Classique range. The Rhona Muscadel (named after Graham Beck's wife) has won numerous John Platter Wine Guide awards. It's a lightly perfumed wine with delicious honey undertones and great aging potential. When it comes to reds, don't miss out on the Ridge Syrah, perfect with flavorsome meaty dishes. You can taste a couple of wines for free, or pay to taste specific labels. The other wine farm in the Graham Beck stable is the super-stylish Steenberg estate in Constantia, Cape Town.
