This Cape Dutch house is elegant without being pretentious; original artwork hangs in every room, and the beds are covered in Egyptian percale cotton. The house has a great view of the Orange River, and the garden–-where you can sit and have a cup of tea or a gin and tonic–-sweeps right down to the waterside. You can take a dip in the river or a lazy paddle in a canoe. There is also access to the neighboring pool.
