Fodor's Expert Review Nobu
World-famous chef Nobuyuki "Nobu" Matsuhisa's exceptional contemporary Japanese cuisine with a South American twist may be costly by local standards, but the cost here is entirely worth it when compared with the bill at one of Nobu's sister New York or London branches. Food is the main event in this vast, modern space, in the Waterfront's One&Only resort. If your budget allows, the Omakase multicourse tasting menu is the way to go for a divine culinary experience in which the chef will surprise you with his choices for the evening. Do not miss dishes like the signature Alaskan black cod with miso. The spinach salad with dried miso and truffle oil is sublime, the kingklip tempura heavenly, and the sushi excellent, including an unusually diverse range of choices for Cape Town. There is a stellar selection of sake and, of course, excellent local wines.
