Italian owner Rudy Ghirini cut his teeth on the club scene of Burundi’s capital Bujumbura. Pili Pili---meaning "hot" in Kinyarwanda---attracts a cross-section of local and international clientele throughout the week to the DJ nights, live bands, and seven sports TV screens. This huge bar boasts one of Kigali's best views and a wide selection of Champagnes and sparkling wines. The restaurant serves international dishes and local fish specialties such as njagalas and mukeke from Lake Tanganyika. On Sundays, Kigali residents laze on sun loungers around the bar’s open-air swimming pool and ‘urban beach.’
