When to Go

The region has a temperate, coastal climate throughout the year, with the traditional high season lasting from late July to the end of August. In Tangier and along the Mediterranean Coast, winter brings rain and surprisingly cold temperatures, whereas the summer months of June through September see hot and sunny days. The Rif Mountains are perfect for skiing in the winter, when thick snow covers the entire range. Spring and summer bring an influx of tourists to the region, during which time the airports and seaports get busier, rooms are hard to find, and the medina, cafés, and beaches overflow with visitors.
