Planning Your Time
First-time visitors to the region would best use their time by basing themselves in Tangier. The city's bustling medina and abundance of accommodations ensure a good starting point for exploring all that the surrounding area has to offer. Traveling to Tetouan and Chefchaouen is possible by taking CTM buses; however taking a taxi directly from Tangier is much easier (fares should be decided before departing). It's possible to see the major points of the region in a week, but it's best to spend at least four days in Tangier and two days in any other town or city visited to truly get a sense of this unique corner of Morocco. Be sure to plan ahead of time to secure desired accommodations and any necessary travel arrangements, as the region is sparsely connected in comparison to other major city hubs.
